Dear Church Family,

Lately I have found myself drawn to great prophecy speakers like Dr. David Jeremiah, Jack Hibbs, Amir Tsfarti, and Jan Markkel.  Such speakers interpret what is happening in the world today – in light of Bible prophecy, and I get very excited.  We are so close to the Lord’s return.

Some people feel dread or a sense of doom and don’t want to hear these proclamations.  They don’t want to be scared with thoughts that greater persecution might be looming on the horizon for believers, as we see our freedoms falling so quickly all around us.  I “get it.”  Sometimes I have a jolt of fear.  No one chooses hardship for themselves.

The spirit of antichrist is already at work among us (2nd Thes 2:7) and I firmly hold to the position that Christians will not live through the Tribulation (1 Thes 1:10).   But we certainly are seeing the “warm-up” to the Tribulation, as I think it is described at the beginning of Matthew 24’s end-time prophecy.  Covid-19 has certainly shown how easy it is for the sovereignty of nations to be thrown to the wayside, in favor of a one world authority. As things will (no doubt) “heat-up,” how much suffering at the hands of Satan’s world system, will Christians experience?  Will we be tempted to turn and run?  Will our faith hold-up?

But wait!  It does not need to be “doom and gloom”  for the believer!  God in His great mercy has provided us with Jude 24. “To him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you before his glorious presence without fault and with great joy ….”    Wow!  What an exciting verse for us right now. … If end time Bible prophecy sends shivers of nervousness down your spine -  throw your arms around that promise like a drowning man seizing a life preserver.  “He is able to keep us from stumbling…”  We really can breathe easier because we are in the grip of God’s grace. His hand is on your back.  Listen to His insistent voice, “This way, My child; walk in it.”

Still nervous?   Remember this: God is omni-present.   Satan can only be in one place at a time.  God is omni-powerful; Satan isn’t.  God is omniscient (all wise).  AND (here is a BIG comfort to me)… God limits what Satan can do.  Think of the limitations God put on Satan for what he would be able to do to Job (Job 1:8.)

Still nervous?  Drink this in:

1 Corinthians 10:13 (ESV)
13  No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.

I invite you to come get excited with me!  Don’t let fear steal the joy that God wants you to have right now.  Jesus is about to come get us!

Be ye glad!
