In the Olivet Discourse, Jesus warns that when you see the armies surrounding Jerusalem, flee to the mountains... Was this only a warning for His immediate listeners who heard Him that day? Is it only a warning that concerns the destruction of Jerusalem (which happened in 70 A.D.?) What are the implications for us today? When we see several other prophecies that refer to this same event, we can develop a great appreciation for God's mercy for His people and His striking communication that prepares us for the future.
